#BOOST project was presented at European Week of Sport in Sofia

On September 24, 2022, within the #BeActive Sports Village of outdoor sports and the #BeActive Night of Sports, which took place in front of the National Palace of Culture, Bulgarian sports development association presented to the citizens of the capital and the sports lovers their current activities and initiatives.

In the sports village, over 25 federations and clubs presented their activities through demonstrations and informational materials, and within the Night of Sports, a program was held on stage with demonstrations of sports federations and clubs. The European Week of Sport #BeActive is organized for the eight consecutive year by the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Between 23 and 30 September, everyone will have the opportunity to become part of the largest sports festival for amateurs in Europe.

The week aims to support the personal development of young people and to support their sport needs. #BeActive is part of the European Commission’s initiative to promote sport and physical activity for EU citizens. The national coordinator for Bulgaria is the MYS, co-funded by the Erasmus + programme of the European Union.

During the event was presented #ErasmusPlus co-funded initiative #BOOST that aims aims to create new learning and personal development opportunities for young people in Europe by providing interactive educational formats and methods based on the development of transversal skills. As part of the initiative, an e-learning platform is going to be presented, in which young people can learn more about each of the 20 transversal skills and how to develop them.
The platform is available already in #BOOST outputs section at www.boostskills.eu.

As part of the week of sports, a demonstration basketball match was held, in which the athletes in Adapted Basketball at the “Vasil Levski” NSA took part, as well as residents of the Home for adults with mental disabilities in the town of Banya, Karlovo – Sonic Start, whose development Bulgarian sports development association has been supporting for years.
